THE TWO-STEP SECRET TO LONGER-LASTING NAILS“Why do my gel nails keep lifting after 2-3 days?”
This is the number one question we hear from home DIYers.
The answer is almost always the same: poor nail prep.
Your natural nails have oils and moisture on the surface. Gel and acrylic can't bond properly to an oily surface. That's why lifting happens – usually at the edges or cuticle area first.
The solution? A proper two-step prep system.
What does each product do?
Product: Dehydrator, What it does: Removes surface oil and moisture,
Product: Acid-Free Primer, What it does: Creates a sticky bond layer, Why you need it: Gives gel/acrylic something to grip
Without dehydrator: oils remain, bond is weak.
Without primer: no tacky layer, product can pop off.
Together? Professional-grade adhesion that actually lasts.
“Do I need both? Can't I just use one?”
You can. But you won't get the same result.
Think of it like painting a wall:
Dehydrator is like cleaning the wall – removes dust and grease
Primer is like applying primer paint – creates a surface that top coat sticks to
Skipping either step means your manicure is already at risk of lifting.
“How long does each product take to dry?”
No UV/LED lamp needed for either product.
Dehydrator: Air dries in 5-10 seconds
Primer: Air dries in 30-60 seconds (dries to a slightly tacky finish – this is normal)
Fast. Simple. No equipment required.
“Will this work with my gel/acrylic brand?”
Yes. Our dehydrator and primer are compatible with all major systems:
UV/LED gel polish
Acrylic powder and liquid
Builder gel
Dip powder systems
Press-on nail glue
What's in the box:
Item
Nail Prep Dehydrator
Acid-Free Primer
How to use – step by step:
Before you start: Shape nails, gently buff surface, remove all dust.
Step 1 – Dehydrator
Apply a small amount of dehydrator to each nail. Avoid skin. Air dries in 5-10 seconds.
Step 2 – Acid-Free Primer
Apply a thin layer of primer to each nail. Air dry for 30-60 seconds. The surface will become slightly tacky – this is correct.
Step 3 – Base Coat
Apply your base coat. Cure under UV/LED lamp (if using gel).
Step 4 – Colour & Top Coat
Continue with colour and top coat as usual.
Pro tips for best results:
❌ Don't touch nails after priming – finger oils ruin the bond
❌ Don't apply too much primer – thin layers work better
❌ Don't skip dehydrator if you have oily nails
✅ Do apply primer just before your base coat
✅ Do cap the free edge of your nail with product
✅ Do store bottles upright and cap tightly
How to tell if you have oily nail plates:
Gel or acrylic lifts within 2-3 days
Products pop off in one complete piece
You've tried multiple primers without success
Your nails feel smooth or shiny even after buffing
